Practice: Becoming a Gentle Role Model in Your Child's Life

Every day, we are learning how to become better parents.

This is a spiritual journey of the "heart," where we practice:

A "softer" heart — Accepting a child's occasional loss of control and emotions; not rushing to judge, but offering a hug first.

A more "equal" heart — Seeing the child as an independent individual; not suppressing them with adult authority, but listening on equal footing.

A more "respectful" heart — Viewing the child as a soul of equal status to an adult. "Respecting a child just as you would an adult"—this is easy to say, but a lifelong lesson to master.

We often ask: why is there so much conflict at home?

In truth, peace between parent and child always begins with the adult's consciousness.

When we are willing to slow down, let go of the obsession with control, and begin to embody gentleness and respect, you will find—over time—that those eyes watching you are quietly mimicking your ways.

The softness you give to the world, your child will learn.

The respect you show to others, your child will internalize.

Gradually, through day-after-day practice, we will eventually find that long-awaited peace within each other's lives.

On this journey of parenting, let us walk forward gently together.
